Feature request and a bug

I see this is the first post in English side!!

First, the bug: in collecting info from IMDB, there are some words that VD cant see them after fetching from IMDB. for example put "gone baby gone" in title and ask VD to get info from IMDB. it cant find the movie, but the movie is in IMDB search: http://www.imdb.com/find?s=all&q=gone+baby+gone&x=0&y=0

Second, 3 feature requests:
- Add capability to add movie types other than what is listed by default. because as you know, we want to add some MKV, RMVB, ... file types, and their type should be existed in movie type list.

-Add cover image size recognize, so if the cover doesn't fit in what you made by default, it can be resized by a ratio, and don't stretch in any side to fit in cover place.

- It is great if you can make VD, a MEDIA manager. because it has many potentials to add Audio CD too.

** by the way, VD is a great program that you build here!

First of all, yes, yours is the first post in English.
Well, i answer you with my poor English
With the IMDB script, there are many movies the script doesn´t find. This is because the script needs finetuning. For the next version i´ll do it.
Thus, you can use the [EN] Filmaffinity script for the info, and [EN]DVDEmpire for a good cover. To do this, use first the filmaffinity, and after, use DVDEmpire to download a big cover with quality.

As for the feature requests:
1) I´m planning to add other types of movies. They will be "subtypes", i.e.: musicals, anime, animation. I´do it in the next release, surely. This way, we can manage movie movie formats. I´m planning add MKV and RMVB, too. And others.
2) I don´t understand what your problem with the cover is. The cover resizes automatically with the right ratio. What is the problem?
3) I don´t want to make VisualDivX an audio manager, o media manager. For the moment i am the only developer, and i have so much work with VisualDivX .
I want VisualDivX to be the best movie manager, and because of that, i´m concentrated in develop VisualDivX. No plans for VisualCD or VisualGames

Of course. Shortly we´ll do DUAL Scripts in English with covers from Visualdivxcovers.com. These covers have REALLY great quality.!!! Most are in spanish, but there are many in English, too.

- but about resize problem: all the cover pictures will be resized to exact same size to fit the cover place holder. so this will lead to stretching or compressing from one the width or height, not the right aspect ratio.

- also about the movie type, I suggest fetch movie type when someone is importing from file. because your movie recognition algorithm is working great, and know all the movie container such as RMVB MKV or .... you need just to replace the movie type from the info it gets.

- another suggestion for huge (biggest) list of movie covers is http://www.cdcovers.cc/ , so if you want, you can make a script to fetch covers from its list. try it.

- another request: could you please make the CAST list of movies included with their IMDB link? I mean if you can make cast names as hyperlink to their IMDB location. also it would be great that we could have a list by actor(actress) names too, that would make easier to see what movies we have by specified actor...

1) Resize: That´s true. Now, i understand The problem here is that i want the cover area with fixed size. If you see other movie manager, you´ll see that they do in the same manner. This is because ,if a don´t this way, the controls don´t show very well, and they resize too. As a result, there are many problems.
On the other way, if i resize the cover control with the right ratio, can be like in TVs, that can show grey bands on the left and right sides of the covers. Is like if you set your TV with 16:9 for a TV with 4:3

2) Movie type: I´ll think that. The problem can appear if there are people that not use this function. But i´ll study this. Is a great idea.

3) Cdcovers: I used to be a big fan of cdcovers.cc . I´ll try to make a script.

4) Last request: I´m sorry, but i don´t wanna make neither cast names with hyperlinks nor lists wiht actors (URL Mode), because i will the program be "minimalist". I mean, i don´t like the program has many,many options. I just want the right (and fewer) options to manage the movies we have. I could add plenty of options, but this way, the program will be "un-manageable" and "less-usable"

And last, now i want you to answer some questions i have:

1) I´ve translated the page to English language. Is this page showing well? I mean, the translation. Have you encountered any errors?
2) Is the translation of VisualDivX to English language, right? Are there mistakes? If that´s true, can you help me to do the right translation to english?

1- About resize: I think there should be a right aspect ratio even it has Grey on one side (the side that is smaller than the other). Because the way you keep the covers resized, many of them will be wrong looking, as they have stretched from one side. I think the purpose of having covers is to show them in good looking way, not stretching them. please consider.

2-which page did you translated to English? homepage? I'll take a look at it.

3-there are some minor translation errors in the program, I'll send them to you after I've complete d them.

At the moment, you can generate an .xml file and import it into this firmware for WD. But in the next version, there will be complete support for WDTV. I DO have a WDTV , and because of that, you can bet that the support to this hardware is completely guaranteed.

There is no date, because the new version is currently under development. In a couple of weeks i could give you a date, but not now. Next version is 80% new code and that means that it takes much time to develop.

It will be soon. It's still under development. I want this version to be 1.00 and has to be perfect in order to be released. I think development will last only a few weeks more.
